New Delhi [India], June 25 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired the 48th meeting of PRAGATI, the ICT-enabled multi-modal platform aimed at fostering Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation. The meeting, held at South Block in New Delhi, brought together central and state government officials to coordinate and accelerate critical infrastructure projects.
According to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the review focused on major projects in the Mines, Railways, and Water Resources sectors. These initiatives were identified as pivotal to India’s economic growth and public welfare. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of adhering to project timelines and resolving inter-agency bottlenecks to avoid cost escalations and service delays that impact citizens.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi also reviewed the progress of the Prime Minister-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM). He called on all states to expedite the development of health infrastructure, particularly in Aspirational Districts and in remote, tribal, and border areas. The Prime Minister stressed that equitable access to quality healthcare is essential for the welfare of the poor and underserved, and he urged for urgent and sustained efforts to address existing gaps in critical health services.
Highlighting the transformative potential of PM-ABHIM, Modi noted that the mission offers a golden opportunity for states to enhance primary, tertiary, and specialized health infrastructure at the block, district, and state levels, thereby ensuring comprehensive and accessible health services across the country.
In addition, the Prime Minister reviewed exemplary practices adopted by various ministries, departments, and states/UTs to promote self-reliance, or Aatmanirbharta, in the defence sector. He praised these efforts for their strategic value and ability to foster innovation within the defence ecosystem. Citing the successful execution of Operation Sindoor using indigenous capabilities, Modi described it as a powerful testament to India’s growing self-reliance in defence and encouraged states to actively participate in strengthening the defence ecosystem.
The 48th PRAGATI meeting underscored Prime Minister Modi’s continued focus on seamless inter-governmental coordination, efficient project implementation, and advancing self-reliance as a national goal. (ANI)
