Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], June 25 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel chaired a high-level review meeting in Gandhinagar to evaluate the progress of approximately 21 high-priority development projects valued at over Rs 18,000 crore across nine key state departments. The meeting, aimed at ensuring the timely and high-quality execution of critical initiatives, was attended by Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi, Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister Hasmukh Adhia, and senior secretaries from the concerned departments.

According to a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office, CM Patel emphasized the need to complete these inclusive, development-oriented projects within the stipulated timelines and to maintain quality standards. He reiterated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gujarat has emerged as a role model for development, and it is essential to uphold this image by ensuring impactful execution and inauguration of major projects.

To facilitate smoother implementation, CM Patel proposed the formation of a high-level committee under the Chief Secretary’s leadership to conduct periodic reviews and ensure interdepartmental coordination from inception through completion. He also instructed senior officials to conduct regular field visits for on-ground assessment and to maintain continuous engagement with central agencies and ministries involved in these projects.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed the implementation of deep-sea pipeline projects for industries in Surat and Vapi, the Bhavnagar brownfield port development, and the development of fishing harbours at Veraval, Sutrapada, and Madhwad. He also evaluated the work being done by the Road and Building Department and the National Highways Authority of India regarding the widening and strengthening of state highways and the construction of major bridges.

In the area of internal security, the Chief Minister assessed the construction progress of a state-of-the-art Police Training Centre in Khalal, Kheda, with a total investment of Rs 500 crore. This training centre is expected to accommodate more than 2,500 police personnel.

The Chief Minister sought updates from the Health Department on the new OPD building at Surat New Civil Hospital and the 425-bed Civil Hospital under construction at Manasa in Gandhinagar. He directed officials to expedite work on both these healthcare infrastructure projects.

In terms of urban development, CM Patel reviewed the construction of around 10,000 housing units for the Economically Weaker Sections in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation area. He also assessed the progress of the railway overbridge project at Talod, located between Dahegam and Himatnagar stations.

Additionally, the Chief Minister reviewed other major infrastructure projects including the Amul Fed Dairy Plant at Gadhka, pipeline works managed by the Water Resources Department, and power distribution infrastructure developments in the Vadodara and Dahod districts.

Emphasizing quality assurance, CM Bhupendra Patel directed all departmental secretaries to prioritize excellence and timely delivery. The review meeting was also attended by Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister M.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretaries of the departments involved, Advisor to the Chief Minister S.S. Rathore, Principal Secretaries, Additional Principal Secretary to the CM Avantika Singh, Secretary Vikrant Pandey, and other senior officials. (ANI)
