Bangkok [Thailand], April 3 (ANI): In a special gesture, Thailand has released a commemorative stamp featuring Ramayan mural paintings from the 18th century to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the country.
PM Modi, currently in Bangkok for the BIMSTEC summit (April 2-4), expressed gratitude to the Thai government, emphasizing the deep cultural and spiritual ties between India and Thailand.
“India and Thailand share centuries-old relations, connected through our deep cultural and spiritual ties. The influence of Sanskrit and Pali is reflected in Thai language and traditions even today. I thank the Thailand government for issuing this special Ramayan commemorative stamp during my visit,” PM Modi said.
The mural depicted in the stamp is from the ‘Ramakien’, Thailand’s national epic, which is influenced by Valmiki’s Ramayan.
