Chaibasa (Jharkhand), April 16 (ANI): In a significant anti-Naxal operation, security forces on Tuesday evening recovered five powerful Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) in the hilly and forested region under the jurisdiction of Jaraikela police station in Jharkhand’s Chaibasa district.
According to police sources, the IEDs were “planted to cause damage” to security personnel operating in the area. The explosives were discovered during a joint combing operation aimed at flushing out Naxal elements from the region.
Following standard operating procedures, the explosives were destroyed on the spot to avoid any potential harm.
In addition to the explosive recovery, police confirmed that several Naxal bunkers were also dismantled during the operation, dealing a blow to the insurgent group’s infrastructure in the area.
Further search operations are ongoing in the region.
