Dubai [UAE], April 13 (ANI/WAM): The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is emerging as a global leader in efficient and sustainable supply chains, thanks to its visionary leadership, cutting-edge infrastructure, and commitment to innovation, stated Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, at the International Procurement and Supply Chain Conference (IPSC) 2025 in Dubai.
In his keynote address, Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the critical role of supply chains in modern society, likening them to electricity—essential yet often only noticed when disrupted. “We have come to realise the fragility of these systems, and the need for them to be resilient, secure, innovative, data-driven, and capable of adapting to rapid global changes,” he said.
The IPSC 2025, hosted by Blue Ocean Corporation—a global leader in procurement and supply chain consulting and training—brought together over 500 global leaders, experts, and decision-makers. Themed “Redefining Global Trade: The UAE Shaping Sustainable Supply Chains for the Future,” the event showcased the UAE’s strategic initiatives to drive sustainable trade innovation amid shifting global economic landscapes.
Sheikh Nahyan pointed to recent global challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and maritime disruptions, which underscored the need for collaborative and resilient supply chain solutions. “Sustainability and efficiency in supply chains are not only crucial for economic development but also vital for community well-being and environmental preservation,” he said.
Highlighting the UAE’s proactive investments in ports, airports, free zones, and manufacturing infrastructure, Sheikh Nahyan also credited the adoption of modern technologies and transparent, open policies for the country’s rapid progress in the field. “These elements collectively position the UAE as a leader in this field,” he noted.
He attributed these advancements to the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, praising their focus on infrastructure, economic growth, and sustainability.
“The UAE does not aim only to fulfill its national interests, but also strives to provide a global model that other countries can benefit from,” Sheikh Nahyan said. He also called for greater international collaboration, noting that supply chains are a pillar of national security, economic strategy, and innovation.
Concluding his address, Sheikh Nahyan expressed strong optimism about the conference’s impact: “Your participation in this event is a source of hope and optimism. Collaboration in supply chains is essential to global economic growth and regional and international integration.” (ANI/WAM)
