Damascus [Syria], July 3 (ANI/WAM): A United Nations delegation has called on the international community to step up investments in Syria to address the immense needs of children and families, following a two-day mission to Idleb and Aleppo governorates.
During the visit, the delegation outlined priorities and explored ways to enhance partnerships and cooperation to support Syria’s recovery from nearly 14 years of conflict. They also met with displaced people and returnees, both from within Syria and abroad, to hear firsthand about the challenges they face and to emphasize the importance of restoring livelihoods and essential services to enable safe, voluntary, dignified, and sustainable returns.
The UN Office in Syria underscored that the country remains one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises, with more than 16 million people requiring assistance. It reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to support the Syrian people and local authorities during this critical period of rebuilding and recovery. (ANI/WAM)
