X faces outage

New Delhi [India], May 24 (ANI): Elon Musk-owned X (formerly Twitter) experienced a major outage, with users across India and several other countries reporting difficulties accessing the social media platform, according to Downdetector.com.

Many users attempting to use the microblogging site were met with a notification reading: “Cannot retrieve posts at this time. Please try again later.” According to Downdetector, a website performance tracking tool, over 2,000 users in India reported issues.

Of these, 45 percent faced trouble logging in, 39 percent experienced problems with the app, and 16 percent reported issues with the website. Reports peaked at 6:18 p.m. with 2,151 users affected. The outage was later resolved.

Users in the United States and Canada also reported similar problems. In the United States, Downdetector registered 25,699 reports of issues on Saturday evening. Of those, 68 percent faced login issues, 24 percent experienced app malfunctions, and 8 percent had website-related problems.

In Canada, over 2,230 users reported platform-related issues on Saturday evening. Downdetector records an incident only when the number of reports significantly exceeds the normal volume for that time of day.

This marks the second major outage this year, following a similar global disruption on March 10 that also impacted thousands of users. (ANI)
