NEW DELHI, India, February 14 (ANI): Argentine Ambassador Mariano Caucino emphasized the vast potential for India-Argentina cooperation, citing “objective complementarity” between the two economies.
Speaking at CS India’s Borderless Bharat Conclave at the IIMT Group of Colleges campus in Noida, Caucino said Argentina and India are “destined to deepen their cooperation in an ever-increasing number of areas,” highlighting expanding economic ties.
“Argentina and India are destined to deepen their cooperation in an ever-increasing number of areas. Our countries maintain a growing economic interaction stemming from the objective complementarity between our economies,” Caucino said, according to a press release issued by the Embassy of Argentina.
The envoy noted that since elevating bilateral ties to a strategic partnership in 2019, both nations have significantly expanded economic and trade engagement. Current bilateral trade stands at approximately $5 billion, the release stated.
Caucino said India’s growing global prominence has strengthened the relationship.
“India is becoming so important in today’s world that it has become the fourth-largest economy. As a consequence of its rise in the global context and the great complementarity between our economies, India is our sixth-largest economic partner,” he said.
He also praised India’s economic performance, noting that in recent years the country has become the world’s most populous nation and a major economic power.
“Since the introduction of policies of deregulation and free-market reforms under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, you have shown the world remarkable success, being able to elevate millions and millions of Indians into the middle class,” Caucino said.
The ambassador described 2025 as a historic year in bilateral relations, recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Argentina.
“Prime Minister Modi and President Javier Milei held productive talks that led to greater cooperation between our countries,” he said. (ANI)
