Washington [US], June 24 (ANI): U.S. President Donald Trump declared that Iran will “never be able to rebuild” its nuclear facilities following the recent American airstrikes under “Operation Midnight Hammer.” Referring to Iran’s major nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan, Trump stated that these locations were now buried and demolished beneath rock.
Posting on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote, “IRAN WILL NEVER REBUILD THEIR NUCLEAR FACILITIES!” He reiterated this point during a press interaction, saying, “That place is under rock. That place is demolished. The B2 pilots did their job better than anybody could have imagined.”
In earlier Truth Social messages, Trump also urged Israel to uphold the ceasefire agreement and halt any further military operations. He added that Israeli fighter jets would return mid-air in what he described as a “friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran,” indicating a symbolic retreat in honor of the ceasefire. “ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home… The Ceasefire is in effect!” he wrote.
However, he issued a stern warning to the Israeli government: “DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!”
Despite the ceasefire announcement, the Israeli Air Force reportedly conducted a limited strike on an Iranian radar facility north of Tehran. This retaliatory move came shortly after Iran launched two ballistic missiles at Israel earlier in the day, violating the truce. According to The Times of Israel, Israel’s full-scale response was scaled down after a phone call between President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The two leaders agreed that Israel would carry out a single symbolic retaliatory strike, after which the majority of Israeli jets turned back.
In a further escalation, Iran launched several missiles at U.S. military bases in Qatar, including the Al Udeid Air Base, which is the largest American military installation in the region. This attack followed the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities conducted under “Operation Midnight Hammer.”
Later, Israel officially accepted Trump’s ceasefire proposal, declaring that its operational goals had been met and warning of consequences if the truce was broken. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office released a statement:
“In light of having achieved the objectives of the operation, and in full coordination with President Trump, Israel agrees to the President’s proposal for a bilateral ceasefire. Israel will respond forcefully to any violation of the ceasefire.”
President Trump also outlined the timeline of the truce, stating:
“Iran will start the ceasefire and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the ceasefire and, upon the 24th Hour, an official end to the 12-Day War.”
The conflict, which erupted on June 13, began with Israel launching a wide-scale airstrike targeting Iran’s military and nuclear infrastructure under “Operation Rising Lion.” Iran responded with “Operation True Promise 3,” a series of coordinated missile and drone attacks on Israeli infrastructure.
The ceasefire now marks a significant pause in a conflict that threatened to spiral into a broader regional war, with both sides having inflicted and sustained serious military and civilian damage. (ANI)
