Sikar, Rajasthan, June 16 (ANI): In a tragic reminder of the intense academic pressure faced by competitive exam aspirants in Rajasthan, a 22-year-old NEET candidate allegedly died by suicide in Sikar, police said on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Umesh, was living in a private residential complex while preparing for the medical entrance examination. According to police officials, he allegedly used a scarf to hang himself from the ceiling.
Upon receiving information, a team from Udyog Nagar Police Station reached the scene and recovered a note from the room in which the student wrote that he was “going very far away” and apologized.
The body was handed over to family members following a post-mortem examination.

The death comes a day before Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s scheduled visit to the neighboring coaching hub of Kota on June 17.
Gandhi is expected to participate in an interactive program focused on addressing the country’s worsening student suicide crisis and the growing anxieties faced by young aspirants.
