Islamabad [Pakistan], February 1 (ANI): Pakistan’s security forces on Saturday said they killed 92 militants during operations launched in response to a series of coordinated attacks across multiple locations in Balochistan, while 15 security personnel lost their lives in the ensuing clashes, according to the country’s military media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The Express Tribune reported the developments citing an official statement.

According to the ISPR, militants carried out attacks in areas including Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar, and Pasni, targeting civilians as well as security installations.

The military said the attacks were aimed at disrupting public life and development activities in the province. It further alleged that 18 civilians, including women, children, and elderly people, were killed in attacks in the Gwadar and Kharan districts.

The statement said security forces and law enforcement agencies responded swiftly and conducted extensive clearance operations, during which 92 militants, including three suicide attackers, were killed. Operations were continuing in the affected areas, the military added, vowing that those responsible would be pursued and held accountable.

Earlier on Friday, the ISPR said that 41 militants were killed during separate operations in Panjgur and Harnai, bringing the total number of militants killed over the past two days in Balochistan to 133, The Express Tribune reported.

Meanwhile, Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said in a post on X that attempted attacks at several locations were foiled due to timely action by Pakistani police and the Frontier Corps (FC). He added that further details would be shared soon.

However, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), in a separate statement, claimed responsibility for what it described as coordinated attacks carried out under the second phase of “Operation Herof.” The group said it targeted 48 locations across 14 cities in Balochistan, including Quetta, Nushki, Mastung, Dalbandin, Kalat, Kharan, Panjgur, Gwadar, Pasni, Turbat, Tump, Buleda, Mangochar, Lasbela, Kech, and Awaran.

The BLA claimed that during the operation, 84 Pakistani army, police, intelligence agency, and Counter Terrorism Department personnel were killed, dozens were injured, and 18 were captured. It further alleged that its fighters took control of multiple security posts and government installations, destroying more than 30 government properties, including banks, offices, and prisons, and setting fire to over 23 vehicles.

The group also claimed the operation was conducted in an organized and coordinated manner with public support. These claims could not be independently verified.
