WASHINGTON, D.C., May 31 — U.S. President Donald Trump highlighted the results of his recent medical examination on Sunday, emphasizing his performance on a cognitive assessment and calling for future presidential and vice-presidential candidates to undergo similar testing.
In remarks posted on Truth Social, Trump said the results of his physical examination were “extremely good” and noted that he achieved a perfect score on a cognitive test.
“The results of my Physical Examination, taken at Walter Reed Military Medical Center, and just released, were extremely good,” Trump wrote. “Unlike other U.S. Presidents, none of whom have ever taken an approved, high-difficulty Cognitive Test, I scored a perfect 30 out of 30.”
Trump said it was the fourth time he had received a perfect score on such an assessment and argued that candidates for the nation’s highest offices should be required to take cognitive tests.
“All people running for President and Vice President should be forced to take high-difficulty Cognitive Tests. Congress should demand it,” he wrote.
As Trump prepares to celebrate his 80th birthday in June and remains the oldest individual to serve as president, his physician recommended that he continue focusing on weight loss and increased daily physical activity as part of preventive health measures.
On Friday, the White House released an official memorandum prepared by White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella following Trump’s third in-person medical evaluation in 13 months.
After the examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Dr. Barbabella concluded that Trump is “fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief.”
The comprehensive assessment detailed a series of diagnostic tests evaluating cardiovascular health and other medical indicators.
According to the report, Trump weighs 238 pounds and has a resting heart rate of 73 beats per minute.
The physician noted that most clinical findings were normal. The report did identify slight swelling in the lower legs, which had improved compared with the previous year, as well as discoloration on Trump’s hands. The condition was described as minor soft-tissue irritation associated with frequent handshaking while taking aspirin for cardiovascular prevention.
The report also stated that Trump underwent a neurological evaluation that included standard cognitive-function screenings. The assessment documented a perfect score of 30 out of 30.
In addition, the memorandum confirmed that Trump remains current on recommended preventive screenings and immunizations. Routine cancer screenings, cardiovascular risk assessments, and metabolic evaluations were reported to be up to date and within recommended guidelines.
Dr. Barbabella said preventive health counseling was provided during the examination, including recommendations related to diet, low-dose aspirin use, increased physical activity, and continued weight management.
The report also outlined the long-term medications Trump uses for cholesterol management and cardiovascular prevention. (ANI)
