Trump Urges Foreign Companies to Invest in US and Train American Workers

US President Donald Trump urges to invest in US

Washington [US], September 15 (ANI): US President Donald Trump on Sunday urged foreign companies not only to invest in the United States but also to bring expert personnel to train American workers in manufacturing complex and high-tech products. Speaking on Truth Social, Trump emphasized the need for the US to regain advanced manufacturing skills in sectors such as semiconductors, shipbuilding, and high-tech machinery by learning directly from foreign firms making significant investments in the country.

“When foreign companies who are building extremely complex products, machines, and various other ‘things,’ come into the United States with massive investments, I want them to bring their people of expertise for a period of time to teach and train our people how to make these very unique and complex products,” Trump stated.

The President argued that such knowledge transfer is crucial for ensuring long-term benefits from foreign investment and restoring American industrial strength. He highlighted shipbuilding as an example, noting that the US once built a ship a day but now “barely builds a ship a year.”

Trump stressed that welcoming foreign expertise temporarily would allow the US to regain technological know-how and eventually achieve independence and excellence in manufacturing. “We welcome them, we welcome their employees, and we are willing to proudly say we will learn from them, and do even better than them at their own ‘game,’ sometime into the not too distant future,” he added.

The remarks come amid ongoing efforts to strengthen domestic manufacturing in the US, incentivize foreign companies to invest, and leverage protective tariffs to encourage production within the country. Earlier this month, Trump noted that companies from China, Mexico, and Canada are choosing to build products in the US to benefit from tariffs and avoid additional duties. (ANI)
