WASHINGTON, D.C., June 25 (ANI) — U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he has not yet reviewed the investigation report into the Minab school attack in Iran, which reportedly killed more than 100 people, including children, and suggested that authorities may never conclusively determine who was responsible.
Speaking to reporters during a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Trump said he had seen no evidence indicating that the strike was carried out by a U.S. missile.
“I have not seen it, no,” Trump said when asked whether he had reviewed the investigation report.
When pressed on why he had not seen the report, Trump replied, “At some point, well, I have to wait for it to be complete. I don’t know that they’re ever going to solve that problem. I mean you could ask me, but I don’t know that they’re ever going to say it was one of our missiles. I don’t know that they’re ever going to solve that problem in terms of whose fault was it because there were missiles flying all over the place. And it’s horrible what happened.”
Trump said the situation was complicated by the large number of missiles fired during the conflict.
“But there were missiles flying all over the place and somebody said it was our missile. Well, maybe it wasn’t our missile, but I’ve seen nothing to lead me to believe it was. There were plenty of missiles being flown by other people. What do you think, Pete?” Trump said, turning to U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.
Hegseth said the administration was treating the investigation with the utmost seriousness.
“Well, Mr. President, we’ve taken the investigation very seriously and when the appropriate time is right, whatever that outcome is, that will be the time to divulge,” Hegseth said.
Trump reiterated that he did not believe the final investigation would conclude that the United States was responsible.
“I mean if you come up with the right answer, I don’t think it’s going to be us. I don’t think it was us. There were a lot of missiles being fired at that time,” he said.
According to CBS News, Iranian authorities said the strike on the Shajareh Tayyebeh Girls’ Elementary School killed more than 160 people, including schoolchildren. (ANI)
