IMPHAL, India, April 16 (ANI): In continuation of ongoing operations along National Highway 202, security forces led by the Red Shield Division launched coordinated Joint Area Domination Patrols in the Jalenbung Hills and Thoyee Heights to maintain security and prevent the re-establishment of hostile infrastructure.
The operation involved two joint columns comprising teams from the Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and Manipur Police, conducting patrols on both sides of the highway, according to an official release.
In the Jalenbung Hills, a systematic sweep led to the identification and destruction of multiple bunkers that had previously been dismantled but were found to have been re-established. A total of five such bunkers were destroyed in the area.
Simultaneously, in Thoyee Heights, security forces identified a series of bunkers along the Mahadev Hills and surrounding areas. Five repaired bunkers that had earlier been dismantled were destroyed again.
In total, 10 bunkers were destroyed during the coordinated operation.
The operation underscores the continued coordinated efforts of security forces to prevent the re-establishment of hostile firing positions while ensuring peace and stability in the region. (ANI)
